The San Diego Padres activated pitcher Walker Buehler off the paternity list ahead of NLDS Game 3 against the Milwaukee Brewers, placing him on their playoff roster. His return fills a roster spot created by a separate paternity list move.

Closer Mason Miller was placed on the paternity list before the game, leaving San Diego without its top bullpen arm in an elimination matchup. Buehler joins a Padres bullpen that now has to get by without Miller, who had been their main late-inning arm heading into the series.
