ITV News reported on 9 October that the UK and its allies rallied around the International Criminal Court in response to US sanctions directed at the tribunal. The move marks a sharp divide between Washington and its traditional partners over the court's authority.

The decision by allied governments to publicly back the ICC came shortly after the US introduced restrictive measures against the body. Political commentators suggest that the divide could strain longstanding diplomatic relationships between Washington and its allies.

Separately, King Charles footed the bill for Prince Andrew. The arrangement prompted comment given the ongoing questions surrounding the prince's public role.

The PSNI also issued written notice to Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O'Neill in connection with a Garvaghy Road protest linked to the long-running Drumcree dispute. The letter raises the prospect of a formal police interview, introducing another layer of complexity to a dispute that has persisted for decades.
