The BC NDP leader is justifying his use of the childcare subsidy scheme. Opponents say that his family earns too much for the subsidy. The leader explains that his wife stayed time off without pay for cancer treatment. This made them eligible for the help. He claims his family donated the money back to the system. The goal was to support other families. During a stop in North Delta, he vowed to build a new urgent care centre. He is calling for a new BC shipyard. He compared his plans to the Conservative candidate who wants tax cuts.
